Happy New Year, beauties! I can’t believe how fast 2015 flew by, or how fast this past week went by–I hope you didn’t mind my mini-staycation!
The holidays were exhausting as usual, and I spent my New Year’s Eve camped out at home with my parents and my pup, Izzie, who turned seven on the same day. I guess she isn’t really a pup anymore, but she always will be to me!
We enjoyed lobsters, homemade crab cakes and cannolis from my favorite local Italian bakery, La Fiorentina. While I definitely had a little bit of FOMO the next day when my friends posted pictures from the festivities, I was glad I went to bed at 12:05 after clinking glasses with my mom and kissing Izzie goodnight!
I’m really looking forward to so much this year and while I’ll be honest, I’m not 100 percent happy with where I’m at right this very moment, I’m trying to remain as optimistic as possible. It can definitely get tough when you don’t feel like your talent is being used the best way it can be.
I never say this on New Year’s: 2016 is going to be a big year for me, it has to. I’m finally graduating in May and will have the paper to go along with my five years of journalism experience! I’m looking forward to job hunting and wherever that may take me and I’ve resolved to travel more! That’s my goal for the year and I think it’s a realistic one.
I’m so excited to share more with you this year! I’ve already had some exciting offers to partner up with some really cool brands that I can’t wait to show you. I’m looking forward to navigating 2016 as a “real adult,” which is really scary, because I’ve basically been a “fake adult” for the last six or seven years and I don’t want to actually adult yet. You know? You know.
A Few of my Favorite Things will be returning on Mondays, I’ll have more recipes, my HOME OFFICE MAKEOVER is in the works and will have many DIY tutorials and decor ideas, plus all kinds of goodies for Valentine’s Day (or #SinglesAwarenessDay, as I like to call it) and so much more.
Hey, did I ever tell you about that one Valentine’s Day I had a boyfriend and he didn’t buy me flowers because he had bought them for me the week before to apologize after a fight? Then we got in another fight. That was my favorite Valentine’s Day ever. I still stand firm in my decision to break up with him over some roses at age 18, but I’m glad I’m way less bratty than that now. #IBuyMyOwnFlowers
Speaking of favorite things…
