Fall is just about over here in New England, which makes me a little sad, since it’s my favorite season. But it’s Thanksgiving! Between Izzie needing surgery on her leg again, and the fact that I spent the two weeks leading up to and following my birthday with a nasty cold, I didn’t get to spend much time enjoying the leaves changing … so it was a welcome surprise to find a tree still in all its golden glory, at the end of Danielle’s street, when she had a bunch of us over for a “frunchgiving” last Sunday (friends-brunch-giving, get it? Clever, right? Her idea … so I can’t take credit.)
Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday, probably because I get to see all of my family, and like every family, we all have differences, but on Thanksgiving, it doesn’t matter. This year is going to be a little different, since two of my cousins aren’t coming, and the next two years will be very different, since I probably won’t be home at all. (More on that … coming soon!)
But what I am excited about, as everything dies, and we prepare for another cold winter, is the new year. TBH, I thought 2015 was trash, and 2016 ended up being even more ridiculous. I won’t recap all of the crazy that happened this year until my New Year’s post, but you probably have a lot of it still fresh on the brain.
Regardless, I’m thankful for many things: My family and of course, Izzie, at the top. My incredible friends, who I’ve met a multitude of ways, and co-workers/colleagues who have been unmatchably wonderful and helpful in so many ways this year. I can’t thank any of you enough. I’m thankful for my freedom. I’m thankful that I live in country where I can write this blog. And of course, I’m thankful for all of you, who come here and read this silly thing I write every once and awhile!
I’m so thankful for so many things!
I have some exciting news coming soon … along with your holiday gift guides, (I’ve got hostess gifts, for him, stocking stuffers, kids and beauty planned — anything else you need help shopping for?)
How are you spending your Thanksgiving?
