Essence of Style: Pretty in Pink

Getting pretty in pink was no easy feat! The weather in New England was *less* than cooperative last week–it rained for nine days straight! In a search for the perfect graduation dress, I got drenched searching the shops of Northampton, Mass. last Monday, and eventually gave up on attempting to look even sort of cute until Thursday. Friday was a success. I found a break in the rain to head to a spot I’ve been dying to take pictures–the Connecticut Trolley Museum! It turns out the museum is only open Saturdays and Sundays, so I had the deserted yard with old trolley cars all by myself to wander.

In trying to will the sunshine, I busted out my favorite new pink Dasein bag I got from Hautelook and the flowy pink top I snagged at Sears for Easter.

The best part is that this whole outfit can be put together for under $150!

It worked! The sun shined yesterday and today –and most of the week is looking like sunshine too!
