Essence of Style: A Pop of Color

The weather is still transitioning here in New England, so getting dressed in the morning when I’m going to be gone all day is still a struggle. So. many. layers.

I’m also in my New York City wardrobe funk: Black on black on black on black. It’s hard to break out of. So sometimes, you just have to break it up with a little pop of color.

When I saw this Who What Wear top at Target, I knew I had to have it. Yellow is one of my favorite summer colors and then bright blue flowers screamed spring. The price was also a steal, so I snapped it right up. I’ve been wearing it with black and navy ponte pants, but soon, I’ll swap those out for a bright skirt (once I’ve got a *little* color on my legs … even if I’ve gotta use some self-tanner!) or  I could wear it backwards, unbuttoned a little, tied up with a maxi skirt … but this week. It got the all black everything treatment … and it still worked.
