With graduation and vacation (#graduationvacation starting May 29th!) approaching and temperatures on the rise, I’ve been upgrading pieces in my wardrobe. As I packed away my boots and blankets, to be seen again sometime in October, I discovered one place that needed attention–my shoes.
For someone with as many pairs of shoes as I have, needing new ones is not often a problem, but alas, half my flats and sandals are in disrepair. I’ve also been trying to expand my style choices and am always looking for comfy, but stylish alternatives, that I can wear from class, to the TV station and out running errands when I’m going to be away from the house for 15-18 hours in one day. (I also pack snacks.)
My best friend Nicole had texted me a few weeks ago to tell me she was rocking a denim-on-denim look inspired by this look with coral-colored Keds. Huh. I forgot all about Keds. I used to have those as a kid. My mom would take me to get a bright new pair of white ones each year–get my feet measured–the whole rigamarole.
So I bought some, because, why not? I’m about to be an adult (OK, I technically already am, but being in school for nine years, I’ve kind of been in fantasyland) and I really just want to be a kid again.
I paired my new casual kicks with a pop of color–my favorite marigold yellow–denim, and a frilly top I snagged last week. I topped the look with a statement necklace to tie everything together.
