Essence of Style: Flowy, Free + Off-the-Shoulder

The weather is starting to really heat up … humidity and all … making it increasingly hard to dress comfortably. I’ve been dying for some off-the-shoulder items, apparently, they have been dubbed “OTS.” I find that hilarious because in the news business, we call an OTS “over-the-shoulder” as in the graphic or video you see alongside an anchor’s shoulder when they’re delivering the news. Not sure I can call this an “OTS” but … I got one!

I nabbed an insane deal on this off-the-shoulder top at Target, because a little piece of lace on this shirt was in the wrong spot! I was able to clip it off when I got home, making it totally unnoticeable. It took me nearly 10 minutes to find the issue in the first place and saved me tons.

I loved the blush pink color, and the gauze-type fabric. I paired it with a plain maxi skirt and some new sandals I snagged last week for a concert up at Tanglewood that my friend Nichole invited me to. It was hot, but it was the perfect outfit for an outdoor concert. I can’t wait to pair this top with shorts and palazzo pants too.

Most of this outfit is from Target, of course, my favorite shopping destination these days. I can’t help my thrifty ways.

Top: Mossimo, Skirt: Nordstrom Rack (similar), Sandals: Mossimo, Hat: Merona, Bag: Charming Charlie
