Essence of Style: Denim Daze

It’s been a little hectic trying to wrap up all of my school stuff, look for a full-time job, work two jobs already and try to have a social life, so again, I’ve been seriously slacking!

Hi! I missed you. I hope you missed me too. I’m hoping that I’ll have lots of adventures to share soon and I still owe you office makeover tutorials!

I needed to run some errands and it was Sunday, I had to go to work after and I just wanted relax. Denim on denim. I always think of that head-to-toe look Britney and Justin donned at the VMAs one year and never thought I could pull it off, but alas, if you layer chambray with dark denim, it totally works.

Now … that killer contour? e.l.f cosmetics! I grabbed their killer new palette on a whim at Target last week and I’m so obsessed. The best part? It’s $6.00. That’s not a typo. My hair was air-dried using a combination of John Frieda Air-Dry Waves Styling Foam and Sea Waves. I just twisted it and let it dry! (Perfect summer ‘do, y’all!)

And by the way–that bag–I’ve owned since I snagged the cognac-colored version at the Annapolis Charming Charlie store last summer when the strap broke on my carryall while I was interning in Baltimore. After carrying around everything I own in it for nearly a year now–laptop, flatiron, makeup, books, food … etc—I needed a new one. I really wanted the same bag and lucky for me, Christina, one of the amazing managers of the Evergreen Walk store, was able to guide me right to this bag. The same one I already loved in black. And the price is right–it’s just $45.00–and it has SO MANY POCKETS.

P.S. How cool is this mural I found at an abandoned theater behind the Thompsonville fire station? The “No parking per order of police” sign was on the side of the building. I parked there. :)
