Essence of Style: Bridal Brunch

My best friend Nicole’s little sister Michelle is getting married in a few weeks in New Jersey and although their family initially thought it was going to be too far of a trip for me to make for an affair that would only take a few hours, they ultimately decided that I should be at the bridal shower. Truth be told: I wouldn’t of missed it for the world. Hey, here’s to hoping your friends (and their siblings) only are getting married once.

With the three-plus hour trip ahead of me (and back) I was invited to arrive the night beforehand. I surprised Nicole at work, got to help save the hideous shower cake (more on that was cheetah print gone SO wrong), drank lots of wine, watched Sex & the City with Cole when she got home and got to help set everything up for the party–which just so happens to be one of my favorite pastimes. (See my Party Plotting board on Pinterest!) All in all, it was pretty much a perfect 24-ish hours and worth the eventual seven-hour total roundtrip commute…even if I did have to consume $20 worth of coffee to stay awake for the trip home.

Luckily, it was a perfect fall day, most welcome from the oppressive humidity we’d been experiencing all week and I brought the perfect outfit for the occasion! Thanks to Nicole for being a good sport and taking these pictures for me. I knew she couldn’t say no after telling me the night before that she was so excited I’d resurrected “Fashion Erika.”

Oh, and a link to The Tewksbury Inn. They have the most amazing food. Seriously.
