A Few of My Favorite Things

When I missed posting this weekly series on Monday, I figured what better day to do it this week, than on Thanksgiving?

Without a doubt, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Our family gets together…we eat a lot, we drink a lot, we laugh…sometimes we cry…but mostly we laugh. It’s always a fun day.

I have a lot to be thankful for and sometimes when I’m caught up in everything else going on, I forget to be grateful for what I have and I think we’re all occasionally guilty of that, but this isn’t going to be a “what I’m thankful for” piece. These are still just a few of my favorite things this week:

Over the weekend, I got to cover the Bruins/Leafs game for a wire service. It had been more than a year since I had been near the B’s and I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to occasionally fill in for them.

I decided to clean out my beauty closet on Monday and bring the goods to a local women’s shelter that helps victims of domestic violence. The sheer look of excitement on their faces when I explained what everything was while I was dropping it off made it completely worth it.

That time you get a Sophia Bush inspired hair cut and she tweets back at you. Literally life changing. Here’s what I tweeted her.

I worked pretty diligently on these Thanksgiving day centerpieces and I love how they came out. From tracking down boxes at the Brooklyn Flea, to my DIY wood transfer and stuffing them with floral foam and flowers, I think they’ll be a hit.

Every year we take a cousins picture on Thanksgiving and every few years we have a new member. Looking forward to updating last year’s version (pictured here).

If you’re still looking for some last-minute recipes, you can try these caramelized onion feta cups, apple cider sangria, Magnolia Bakery banana pudding, homemade peppermint patties, and of course you can’t forget the apple pie. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
